Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) sports are under the threat of global and more commercially viable sports. This thesis examines the relationship between the GAA and the communities it is involved with. The research has shown a research gap relating to the significance of the GAA in the lives of Irish people, while also examining this organisation through amateur and professional perspectives throughout this research. The impact of this study is of a significant importance in the relationship that exists between Irish people and the GAA.
